This digitally printed mat was designed for a friend who lives in Taos, New Mexico. I love this pattern, it printed beautifully digitally and looks great in her Adobe home. I can print any image on a mat as long as it fits within a 4’x8′ size restraint and invite the idea of printing personal artwork, photographs and even children’s art as the ultimate floor mat. How cool would it be to have your personal or child’s artwork as a runner down your hallway?
Ever since I’ve had the capability of printing mats digitally I’ve wanted to create an artist series where I could offer floor mat collections from artist I’ve known and liked. The Eric Martin Collection utilizes a traditional pen and ink crosshatch style to depict interesting places and characters that have their own unique stories. These illustrations give a “fly on the wall” observation of human nature. They are beautifully detailed, witty originals. These aren’t just floor mats – they are floor art!
