It’s always great to start a year with a fun project and this one has turned out to be a favorite. The goal was to cover a kitchen floor and the client had an idea of a mandala design. I loved the concept and produced a mandala doodle incorporating the grays of the backsplash tile and the green teal of the door with a dark faux background marrying into the floor. The result is like henna on the floor. Stay turned for the finished product in the home, delivering in February.

First Floor Mat of 2016
January 19, 2016Strawberries revised
May 4, 2012The below image is a mat I did 8 years ago. I recently received a call from the client who loves their mat but is ready for a redesign. The challenge is they still would like strawberries and the same colors in the design. They also want the mat divided in two and an additional mat for the laundry room. I came up with a great new design that they loved. The second image is a preview of the start of that design, stay tuned to see the finished, fully designed mats.
Under the Sea
June 29, 2011Under the sea… into the kitchen. This is an unlikely kitchen floor mat but conveys just how unique floor mats can be. My scuba diving clients loved the idea of a colorful seascape underfoot. The large odd shape made it equally unique. Painting this underwater mural was so much fun that I had dreams of tropic vacations. Aloha!
